I am looking for companies (no individuals please) who would be willing to pick up used restaurant oil only for fuel in Georgia. If you have any contacts or links they would be appreciated.

You can find companies that will pick up used oil under “cooking oil recycling” or “rendering”. Here’s one:

in trying to find out why you bash HDs, is it possible that you are angry that your bike might not be around in say 3 years while all the older Harleys are becoming classics?????

Its not nice to pick on the disadvantaged mininum wage basement dwelling plastic pony riden cry babys. They want to ride japcrap and wonder why real Americans think theyre idiots…so let em

………………

You’re on to something with the metrics being out dated over time. Every so often the jap bikes offer upgraded bikes. Yamaha made a v-maxx back in the 1980’s, that bike was the first “power- cruiser”. The bike made more hp and torque stock than most of it’s competition made only after heavy modification. This year you can finally get a replacement bike without having to sacrifice power because Yamaha finally released the second generation v-maxx. The first generation bike is more powerful than any Harley, including both Buell and v-rod models. This years new Buell finally catches the original v-maxx unfortunately this is also the years the new v-maxx is released.
Every time a new and improved model comes out the last generation loses some resale value. Newer is better with jap bikes, but interestingly enough the buells and v-rods also lose value. I think they lose value because newer buells get better, the same is true for the v-rods and why throw victory into the mix as well. The other Harley bikes have not really improved all that much over time. The new Harley evo engine is actually a very mechanically sound engine, too bad it’s still handcuffed into an air cooled 45 degree v-twin. Harley cannot make the same power the other manufactures make with their inline fours, v-fours or 90 degree and parallel twins and the new 72 degree v-twin confirms this.
New Harleys are already mechanically classic.
………………….
Harley owners are funny, way too serious about themselves and easy to tease and provoke. There is a guy in town who has a couple of Harleys, has family members who ride Harleys, has a Harley tattoo, wears silly and crude Harley shirts that demean non-Harley riders, has a part time speed shop, buys kits and installs them (BFD), races his Harley at the drag strip and has mega thousands of dollars in the bike. When I tell him his supercharged Harley is slow he comes unglued. He races against Harleys not Busas not Rocket 3’s because Harleys are handicapped by the idiocy of factory promotion that subordinates technology to image.
The Harley guys are so into image and delude themselves about the qualities of their bikes. THEY ARE SLOW! Get over it.
The new and highly touted Harley-Buell Super Bike isn’t made in America any more than Honda or Kawasaki are. The engine isn’t even American and it’s water cooled.
It’s fun to pick on Harley riders, they take offense so quickly.
All that silliness about classics is just more factory hype. I have an 85 FXEF, a rare bike to be sure but it will never become a classic like a 53 Vincent Black Shadow or a Honda Rune. These are rare and wonderful.
There are no more long waits to get a Harley. There are so many truly amazing motorcycles on the market today that being totally committed to Harley is like eating exclusively at McDonalds. Junk food is fun occasionally but a steady diet of overly fat foods or motorcycles is not healthy.
………………………
I’ll be on a new bike, since Japanese UPDATE their models.

A 1995 1000cc won’t keep up with a 2008 600cc…and a harley won’t keep up with a 250cc.

………………
HD is highly overated.
i’m someone who can look at a bike objectively rather then get tied up in a name

Recently my 2003 Honda Civic has started making a loud rotational noise, especially when the car is in reverse. The sound comes and goes, and I love my little car. I only have 32k on the engine, I change the oil religiously, and drive primarily on city streets.

What could this be?

Once I have shifted into reverse, I hear the noise, but not while I am shifting.
I don’t think its normal; I have never heard this sound before, and it is pretty loud.
You mean the noise only appear when you shift in reverse? If that so, the reverse gears inside your transmission are worn out. Check your transmission fluid, if it has dark color and smell burning, change new fluid
………….
I have a ‘05 Honda accord and my friend has the same car I baby my car so there is no damage to it at all and it makes the same loud noise when reversing. I think it is just the way the car is made. My friends car does the same as well.
………………
its normal. thats how the vehicle sounds in reverse. usually gets louder the faster you go.

it’s our 1st time traveling w/our toddler on an airplane! can you explain how you have fastened your car seat w/out using only the airplane seat belt. hope you know what I mean!

We flew to Disneyland at Christmas and used our car seat for our three year old. We have the new generation seat with the latches that snap into a car’s hooks.

But the seats also have openings for a lap belt to go through. They are like little arms on the back of the seat. Make sure the belt is tight, I put my knee into the seat while I was installing the seat. There is no spot for the tether strap, but I was able to get the seat very secure.

The big thing is you want your child strapped in case you hit any turbulance. Lately alot of people have hit the ceiling in such circumstances.

Don’t count on the airline helping you. They will let you board first, to get the seat installed before the aisles are full of people, do take advantage of that.

I had no trouble going to Disneyland, but airline staff on the return trip tried to get me to check the seat, they told me the aircraft (737) was too small to install such a seat, which was bulloney. I guess they don’t use or support child seats in California. I was baffled. And again, they were not going to let me board early (every airline has the small children and those who require extra time boarding annoucement/policy). Stand your ground, make sure you use that seat, it is for your childs safety.

Bring a candy or juice for ear trouble as well as tylenol or a suitable childs pain reliever.

………….

You must use the aircraft’s seat belt to fasten the car seat in. You do it just the same as you would in a car.

If you are wondering where you would put it on the plane if the child is not going to use it. Then you would gate check it. You leave it at the end of the Jetway and they store it with the rest of the baggage. When you arrive at your destination it will be waiting for you at the Jetway again. I think that this would save you from having to pay for another checked bag with all the airlines new bag policies.

i have a 96 audi a4. the back shocks are very squeaky on both sides. i tried to grease them up but that didnt work. my dad said to put WD40 on them but i dont know if that will work and i dont want to ruin them somehow. any suggestions? ill try anything except replacing them cause i dont have money for that right now. thanks

It’s usually the rubber bushings that start to squeak. Did you
spray them? Spraying the shaft is not the way. Make sure
to spray the top and bottom, inside and out of the bushings.

a good friend of mine is having a party.. and i wanted to get him a gift.

he just bought a motorcycle and since he recently gave me a ride on the back, i was thinking maybe a motorcycle-themed gift would work…
